Green Tea and Wagashi Delights in Tokyo Cherry trees are getting ready to bloom very soon. In a couple of weeks, we’ll be enjoying the flowers along the park that leads us to our tea instructor’s house in Toritsudaigaku. We had a mother and two daughters at our casual tea ceremony workshop today. They are from Salt Lake City, Utah (USA). The daughters tried sitting in the Japanese formal way, which even we Japanese have hard time doing. Green Tea and Wagashi Delights in Tokyo   It is still cold but there is a hint of spring in the air. We had two couples at our tea ceremony workshop yesterday at Toritsu-daigaku. One couple is from India and another from Italy. The tea bowls, utensils and the setup of the tea room had the theme of spring. Some of the tea bowls had motifs of the girls festival “hinamatsuri”.
