<Free Kimono Promotion till August 29th> Take a look at some recent pictures from our Free Kimono Experience promotion. Our guests looked great in kimono, like flowers blooming in the tea room. It’s funny that as soon as you put on a kimono, you start to take on Japanese gestures and mannerisms. Try for yourself before the promotion ends on August 29th!     If you are interested in this post, please check below! Authentic Cha-kaiseki and Tea Ceremony in Tokyo:  http://goo.gl/3I0QCC

We recently hosted some VIP guests from Sweden for a tea ceremony at our new venue. It was a highly successful occasion, and we were delighted that they enjoyed the experience. Among their numerous questions about the ceremony, the most impressive was, “How were the series of movements in the Cha-do ritual determined?” Our host replied, “Cha-do employs movements that were considered the most beautiful.” It is said that Cha-do has been able to realize the ultimate beauty because it was developed with a logical approach, eliminating unnecessary elements and establishing a balance between what’s left and the tea space. It’s such a hot summer day here in Tokyo. And nothing is better than a cold beer on a day like this, right? But how about Matcha beer? We went to Isetan department store in Shinjuku to check out the “Easy to Enjoy Green Tea” event yesterday. One of the vendors called 1899 who calls themselves a “Green Tea Restaurant” was showing their specialty Matcha beer. Of course, we tried it, and it was an interesting experience of smelling the fresh scent of Matcha while tasting the usual bitterness of a beer. You might want to try it at their […]

We tired specialty Matcha beer.

Prior to the official launch of our new tour that includes a tea ceremony and Kaiseki lunch, we are doing a private tour next week. Today we went to the venue to make sure everything is fine to welcome our first guests. Here’s some pictures taken there. Have a sneak preview for now as we will launch the tour at the end of June!

We will launch our new tour at the end of ...

As we are going to welcome our very first guests on our very first tour on May 9th, we visited Doi-en again for one last meeting last week. Mr. Doi, the owner served us Shin-cha, a tea that’s made of the first fresh leaves of the season, only available at this time of the year. He served us 2 cups of the same Shin-cha, but with different water temperatures. Did you know depending on the water temperature, the same tea leaves end up tasting totally different, due to the different melting points of what’s contained in a tea leaf? On […]

Experience this surprisingly different tastes of Shin-cha!
